OOS 2.0: Redefining Edge AI Deployment and Security
As edge computing continues to revolutionize industries, OOS is committed to delivering solutions that enhance security, network management, and deployment efficiency. The release of OOS-2.0 and Controller-1.2 introduces powerful new features and optimizations, enabling seamless and secure edge AI deployments tailored to meet evolving enterprise needs.
Application Updates
- Container Network Restrictions — allows administrators to restrict container access based on specific LAN, WAN, or Controller connections, and can limit containers' ability to access the internet.
Networking Enhancements (ERD Only)
- Ethernet over USB-C — OOS now supports USB OTG, allowing ERD devices to act as network hotspots and share their connections with end devices via USB-C.
Features Requiring OOS Controller
- API Server Access Control — restricts users to accessing the OOS Web UI exclusively through the Controller for enhanced security and management.
- SD-WAN
- Site-to-Site Connection
- Directed & Relayed Connection — OOS prioritizes P2P direct connections for site-to-site communication, eliminating the need for public IPs. If NAT traversal fails, the system automatically switches to a relayed connection for uninterrupted communication.
- LAN to LAN — seamless integration of internal networks across different sites for efficient resource sharing.
- Traffic Aggregation (Exit Node) — a centralized aggregation point via the OOS Exit Node in the data center, handling interactions between edge OOS nodes, cloud, SaaS, and the internet for efficient, secure data flow.
- Security Enhancements
- Traffic Encryption and Security — implements TLS 1.3 and QUIC protocols for encrypted, secure data transmission.
- Network Status Overview — a comprehensive global network topology view to monitor device connectivity, data rates, and connection statuses in real time.
- Site-to-Site Connection
Licensing Features
- Controller License — manages the controller's license and can control the maximum number of OOS deployments.
- Application License — manages the container license, enabling support for paid apps on the app store.
Log Management
- Report Log — configure the frequency of OOS log reports sent to the OOS Controller.
- Log Retention Period — configure the log retention period on the OOS Controller for better storage management and compliance with organizational policies.
Feature Optimizations
- Dashboard Updates — more detailed statistics, including real-time system performance, traffic analytics, and resource usage, offering deeper insights for administrators.
The updates in OOS-2.0 and Controller-1.2 deliver enhanced control, security, and efficiency for edge AI deployments. From restricting container access and supporting advanced SD-WAN features to improved log management and a revamped dashboard, these upgrades ensure a smarter, safer, and more seamless edge computing experience.
