Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi supports multiple SSIDs and authentication modes: PSK, Enterprise, and Captive Portal.
PSK (Pre-Shared Key) mode, all users share the same password, making individual or centralized management impossible. If the password is changed on the router or access point, it must be updated on every client device. The password is stored on the client, allowing anyone with access to the device to connect to the network and view the password.
Enterprise mode provides enhanced security for business environments. It allows for individual and centralized management of network access. Users must enter their login credentials to connect. This mode supports RADIUS authentication, ideal for setups with a RADIUS server. Clients don't handle the actual password; they use login credentials to establish a secure connection, preventing unauthorized access to the network password.
Captive Portal mode requires users to interact with a web page before accessing the network. It could set with Radius or OOS Controller. This is common in public Wi-Fi settings, like cafes or hotels. Users must enter credentials or agree to terms on the portal page before gaining access, allowing for user verification without a pre-shared password.
